Interview with Marta Bevacqua

The idea behind this magazine is to give a voice to all the talents in the industry. This is the reason why we have decided to start a series of interviews to some influential personalities within the field.

Please meet Marta Bevacqua

1 Can you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am Marta Bevacqua, an Italian photographer based in Paris. I mostly work in fashion photography, but I love working on my projects as well.

2 How would you describe your photography style?

Oneiric, dreamy, natural, pure.

3 How did you get into fashion photography?

A close friend of mine asked me to take pictures of her new dresses (she was studying fashion design). I liked having beautiful outfits, beautiful models, with beautiful make-up and hairstyle. I got interested in fashion and started step by step.

4 Where do you get your creative inspiration?

Everywhere. It can be a unique location, a beautiful light, or others’ artworks.

5 Is there any artist/photographer who inspired your art?

I always admired Paolo Roversi, even if I have a different photography style.

6 How much preparation do you put into taking a photo or a series of photos?

It can 1 minute of preparation or one month. It depends on the project.

7 How important is the location and the background?

Very important. It helps me to construct the story I want to tell with the photos.

8 What advice do you have for other aspiring fashion photographers?

Never give up and always try to experiment.
